RAYS Start with a Split at the 18U National Championships

The GRB Rays opened with a 1-1 record heading into day three of play at the 18U National Championships being held in Indianapolis, IN.
The Rays dropped game 1 on Wednesday, 5-0, to the Indiana Bulls. This was the third time this year the Bulls have nipped the Rays. All games have been tight games until the late innings.
The Rays battled back on Thursday with a convincing 11 to 1 win over the St. Louis Warriors. Ben Pearson threw a complete game, allowing only 2 hits while striking out two.
The Rays used a 5 run second inning to break open, and scored 11 runs on 10 hits. Conner Vredeveld led the attack with a 2 for 3 game with 2 RBI’s. Neil Hebert also had a double and 2 RBI’s for the Rays.
The Rays play again on Friday versus JABC for their final game before bracket seedings.
