2011 10U RiverCats

The U10 RiverCat age division is the first age group in the organization for the RiverCat system.  We use the U10’s as our first age division to introduce both players and parents to the club baseball atmosphere.  As the age of the RiverCat player increases, many variables such as tournaments entered, practice time, travel time, and other baseball related items will also increase.  However, our U10 division will be very basic in design to enforce a solid baseball base in several fundamental areas preparing our players for their growth in the game of baseball.

A few highlights and specifics of our U10 division:

  • A roster size with an 11-12 player maximum to ensure each player gets enough playing time and repetitions to improve their game.
  • A tournaments schedule with five tournaments, enough to find the quality competition needed, but also not to tax our young arms.
  • Quality coaches teaching the fundamentals of the game and game strategy, along with individual instruction to correct and improve players as individuals.
  • Utilization of practice time outside of the tournaments to prepare players for their baseball futures.
  • At the youth ages, the game of baseball should be about enjoyment and having fun.  While we look to be successful on the field, our priority is to take the top players and instill in them the fundamentals and skills to make them successful and instill the love of the game.
