Greg Reinhard

Greg Reinhard, professional baseball player, was born in Marinette, WI.
After dreaming his whole life to become a professional baseball player, his dream was realized in 2005 after the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (now Tampa Bay Rays) selected him 178th overall (6th Round). The dream started back home in Marinette, where Reinhard starred for Marinette (Marines) High School and Legion Baseball teams. The Marines won the Bay Conference title in 2001, and Reinhard was rewarded with being voted unanimously as the “Player of the Year.” In 2002, Reinhard was 1st team All-Conference Pitcher and Shortstop, and voted Honorable Mention All-State as an infielder. That summer, the Post 39 legion team placed 3rd at the state tournament. Reinhard played in the Fox River Valley League Legion All-Star Game, the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association State All-Star Game, and State Legion All-Star game at Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers.
After the 2002 summer, Reinhard took his game to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater to play for the national powerhouse Warhawks in head coach Jim Miller’s last season in his long hall of fame career. Reinhard’s sophomore year was a breakout season as he went 8-1 as a pitcher and voted 1st team All-WIAC and 1st team All-Midwest Region. The Warhawks went to the Division III World Series and placed 3rd overall in the country.
In 2005, Reinhard’s junior year turned out to be his stepping stone to professional baseball. The Whitewater Warhawks became the national champions for the first time in school history, and Reinhard was soon after drafted by Tampa Bay. Before leaving, Reinhard was awarded as Pitcher of the Year in the WIAC Conference, 1st team All-Midwest Region, 1st team All-American, and Division III National Pitcher of the Year.
